La «Waldstein», sin miedo al fracaso
El 20 de octubre de 2022 tuve el honor de participar en la I Gala de Emprendimiento Deusto-Santander como pianista y joven emprendedor. El evento fue muy especial (y tengo que decir que mi actuación gustó mucho al público).
Tras presentar la Unidad de Innovación y Emprendimiento de Deusto con sus diferentes programas de formación, Hasier Larrea, CEO de Ori Expandable Living, nos presentó su trayectoria ofreciéndonos unos consejos para llevar a cabo nuestros proyectos. El que más me gustó, sin duda, fue el de no tenerle miedo al fracaso, ya que los músicos hemos tenido que lidiar muchas veces con el error durante nuestra carrera (y seguramente tengamos que seguir haciéndolo en nuestra vida).
Después de una brevísima mesa redonda entre diferentes participantes de los cursos de formación de Deusto, llegó mi turno para cerrar el acto con el primer movimiento de la Waldstein de Beethoven, que encajaba perfectamente en la temática de innovación por lo revolucionaria que fue en la época. Gustó mucho al público en general, pero sacó las lágrimas de aquellos que me conocían de haber participado en el Programa de Emprendimiento Juvenil pero aún no me habían escuchado tocar en directo.
Me invitaron a comer y pude compartir un poco acerca de Juegos Pulpi, el proyecto que a Bea y a mí nos mantiene en contacto con la Universidad de Deusto. Fue un placer hablar con todos los invitados sobre nuestra idea, sobre todo con Hasier Larrea, que se mostró especialmente empático al respecto (imagino que, en cierto punto, él también habrá estado en nuestra misma situación).
«Waldstein», without fear of failure
On 20 October 2022 I had the honour of participating in the 1st Deusto-Santander Entrepreneurship Gala as a pianist and young entrepreneur. The event was very special (and I have to say that the audience liked my performance very much).
After presenting the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of Deusto with its different training programmes, Hasier Larrea, CEO of Ori Expandable Living, presented his career and offered us some advice on how to carry out our projects. The one I liked the most, without a doubt, was not to be afraid of failure, as we musicians have had to deal with mistakes many times during our career (and we will probably have to continue to do so in our lives).
After a very brief round table discussion between different participants in the Deusto training courses, it was my turn to close the event with the first movement of Beethoven’s Waldstein, which fitted in perfectly with the theme of innovation because of how revolutionary it was at the time. It went down very well with the general public, but brought tears to the eyes of those who knew me from my participation in the Youth Entrepreneurship Programme but had not yet heard me play live.
I was invited to lunch and was able to share a bit about Juegos Pulpi, the project that keeps Bea and I in touch with the University of Deusto. It was a pleasure to talk with all the guests about our idea, especially with Hasier Larrea, who was particularly empathetic about it (I imagine that, at some point, he will also have been in the same situation as us).
